I was recently an inpatient at QEUH. Patients there have individual rooms with private facilities. I have a stoma which I self manage which was not connected to my stay in hospital. There is no provision for stoma changing in the patients’ toilets. At one point I was confined to bed and left to change my stoma bag, sitting up in bed. This could have been disastrous. As private facilities are provided why couldn’t they incorporate a shelf for bags etc and somewhere other than the toilet or the shower seat to sit.
