In early September I thought I was having a heart attack. I spent three and a half weeks in the Forth Valley Royal Hospital where I was treated for a respiratory infection and excessive fluid on lungs and legs.
I disliked being in hospital, mainly because I was there so long and my recovery was slow. The food did little to encourage my poor appetite. The wards were noisy and it was difficult to relax and rest. I think it was difficult to discharge me because my infection was stubborn and a care package had to be arranged. The hospital staff struck me as caring, kind and hard working.
My GP made a home visit a few days after I was discharged and quickly decided to apply for Hospital at Home (HaH). I have been very happy with the care provided by my GP.
I found the HaH team to be thorough, and interested in finding the root causes of my problems. They attended almost daily, however late and inconvenient for themselves. I felt they were a dedicated team of professionals, personally involved in my wellbeing. They kept me well informed. I cannot praise them more highly.
I was discharged by HaH recently.
"A dedicated team of professionals"
