"Excellent care received in the hospital"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Accident & Emergency Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Ear, Nose & Throat (Ward 11b)

(as a parent/guardian),

My son attended A&E with tonsillitis which had developed into a suspected Quinsy (abcess). He received treatment in A&E and then was admitted overnight to Ward 11B (the ENT department). The care & kindness he received from every single person he came into contact with was outstanding!

From the receptionist on A&E, to the nurses that took his bloods, to the nurses & doctors running the A&E dept, to the doctor, nurses & healthcare assistants and porters in Ward 11B - every single one was professional, respectful, positive & kind. We were blown away.

We hear so much negativity in the media about NHS and the hospital and we know the challenges staff face every day, but for that 24hrs it was the best of treatment for my son.

The team at QEUH should be very proud of themselves. Thank you.

Dear gbglasgow,

thank you so much for taking the time to submit such a lovely Care Opinion, I'm delighted to hear that your son received such compassionate and professional care from our team during what must have been a worrying time for you both. It means a great deal to our staff in both A&E and Ward 11B to know their efforts made a positive difference.

Your feedback will be shared with all the staff involved, and I know it will be extremely appreciated. We’re proud of the dedication and kindness our staff show every day, and your story is a wonderful reminder of why they continue to do what they do.

Wishing your son a speedy recovery and good health.

With warm regards,

Karen
