I presented A&E recently with what I now know to be a fractured ankle following a rugby accident. My friend had dropped me at the door so she could go park the car and I was attempting to make my way to the entrance (albeit ineffectively and it was quite painful to do so unsupported). There were two members to staff at the door; a paramedic (or technician) and a student paramedic in UWS scrubs (who I now know is called Laura). Laura was the only one of the two to offer me help, she approached unprompted as soon as she saw me, and walked me into A&E and helped me check in. She was my hero in that moment and I really would like to pass on my gratitude to her, she is an angel.
"They were my hero"
