After major spinal surgery, bedrest for 48hours.
I felt neglected, in pain , no personal care, communication poor, apart from two nurses, who were exceptional.
I felt as if I was a burden to them , though they are supposed to be caring for me. It seemed to be all about doing what the iPad requests them to do.
Forget about the patient being human.
I had pressure sore on my chin, after 6 hours in surgery, I had to clean and attend to it myself. It was reported to staff on numerous occasions, but no treatment ever given. On my discharge, medication cream was added.
Felt so sad how nursing is going there are still caring nurses, but some seem to forget why they are nursing.
I think some nurses need to remember they are paid to care and look after their patients holistic needs.
All it needs is a simple “how are you today?”
"All it needs is a simple “how are you today?”"
