"The service was exemplary throughout"

About: Grantham & District Hospital / Urology

(as the patient),

I arrived at Grantham hospital at 7.30am and was immediately welcomed and taken to my ward. I was to be looked after all day by Bindu who was excellent throughout. She quickly arranged a blood test and a blood pressure check. She also kept me updated on developments in my case throughout the day. At all times for the whole day Bindu and indeed all the medical and ancillary staff, anaesthetists and surgeons treated me very kindly with reassurance, dignity, professionalism and respect. This greatly helped to manage the natural apprehension I felt about a general anaesthetic and the procedure. Bindu subsequently took me down to the operating theatre and later collected me from the recovery room to go back to my ward. I was then immediately offered a cup of tea and a sandwich. My next steps were then explained by Bindu before I could be discharged which occurred at just after 4pm.

As I mention the service was exemplary throughout by everyone at Grantham hospital and I would be delighted to recommend them to anyone in the future. Should I have to return in the future I am certain the service would make the experience much less stressful than it might be.
