"My 3 operations in the last 3 years"

About: Leicester General Hospital / General surgery Leicester General Hospital / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

I have all my adult life had gynaecologists by my side (medically) as I need checks on a regular basis, on 3 separate occasions recently I've been to Leicester General Hospital - daycare 1 and 2 -  after an operation, down below (abnormal cells removal).

Every time I was there all staff were absolutely lovely - different ages, sex, race, background - it is a warm, caring department and I was very well cared for each time. The NHS as a whole doesn't get enough credit in my opinion, I for one am very grateful, as if I wasn't closely monitored (as some in the world are not), then I wouldn't be here now. Things would have developed but unknown, as there wasn't many signs to suggest any issues, my 1st smear picked up some abnormalities back in 2000. My journey continues today.

I currently am perimenopausal, have depression and anxiety too, and had a battle with alcohol, all in a short space of time, so I've had to use some NHS services more now than I ever have. I would normally feel a burden so just be OK!!!! Until you face the fact you need help, so back to my point, again the NHS were there when I needed that help and support for my issues.

I feel that we as a country are very fortunate to have the health care we do. It's a lovely bonus that every single staff member I came across are amazingly beautiful people inside and out. They deserve so much credit.
