"Cancer care patients food options"

About: Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre

(as a relative),

I would like to say that when cancer care patients are offered their menu's for next day's food, can you please offer an option to have a full meal.. half meal or quarter meal. As I found looking after my wife after chemotherapy and radiotherapy, I offered her the usual full dinner.. she would eat a few bites and say she had had enough.

I soon realised by offering a half or quarter portion she ate a lot more.. when they see all that food in front of them and take 2 bites they also feel guilty about leaving it which does not help their mental health.. please think about this option it will save waste and mental health and cancer patients don't feel guilty... but hopefully hungry for more.. hope this helps.. just an honest observation.

Kind regards
