"Mum not getting food"

About: Trauma & Orthopaedics / Ward 4A

(as a relative),

My diabetic mum was admitted to hospital after fracturing her hip, admitted to one ward and then moved to another. After being moved was she not provided with any dinner, supplied her with a sandwich and yoghurt instead, not given a menu for next days food, forgotten about again and had to scramble to get her food

My name is John Johnston and I am the Service Manager for Catering. I am very sorry that your Mum did not receive an adequate service at mealtimes. She should have received a menu for her to choose appropriate meals and snacks. I will share with all staff to ensure that they are aware of this and to enable learning from your experience. I hope that your Mum is recovering well.

Regards

John
