"Lack of Pre and Post Op Protocol & Care"

Theatre: Anaesthetist Comment - I'll try not to knock your teeth out!

Morning following op I have a massive bleed.  Nurse simply puts pads over the wound and binds it with a gauze roll of tape advising someone will come and redress the wound.  The mass pool of blood in the loo and trail to my bed is not cleaned up and as both I and other patients need to use the loo, I get up and clean the pool of blood in front of the loo seat and basin.

I am discharged in the afternoon. No post op visit from Dr. No pain killers, anti-biotics or anti-inflammatories.  Within 24 hours I am in severe pain and one of my doctors prescribes a pain killer. Still have night sweats and a fever. I refuse to return to A & E as advised by the ward. 

5 days later 9hrs in A&E and admitted for an aspiration and discharged. Fever continues. My Dr sees me and does further tests. I still have an infection and they prescribe a strong anti-biotic and anti - inflammatory for the heavy bruising and swelling.  Thanks to my Dr's there was an immediate change in my condition and I am now recovering as I should.
