"Patience and compassion made such a difference"

About: Trauma & Orthopaedics / Ward 21

(as the patient),

I just wanted to say a huge thank you for the outstanding care and kindness I received during my recent stay in ward 21 to get my hip replacement.

From the moment I arrived every member of the team made me feel welcome, supported, reassured and genuinely cared for. I am in my mid-80's with Parkinson’s and I was feeling very vulnerable.

However their professionalism, patience and compassion made such a difference to my recovery and helped turn what could have been a daunting experience into a positive one. I will be forever grateful to them all.

A special thanks to Abbie, Thomas, Paul, Sheben and Sheena they always went that extra mile. Also the physio team Robert and Karen who paced me perfectly and as a result I am fairly independent at home again.
