"Support with homelessness and first time pregnancy"

About: Camglen Community Maternity Family Support Hubs / Family Support Hub - Rutherglen & Cambuslang

(as a parent/guardian),

I was due to head off to Stirling for university in September 2025 to start studying to become a paramedic. After being told I’d never be able to have children I unexpectedly fell pregnant! I had no home and very little support round about me in a professional capacity and was terrified my pregnancy would go wrong! I spoke to my community midwife who put me in touch with Kirsty who listened to me and helped me stay on my feet. Kirsty managed to source some beautiful stuff for my little girl and helped me to ensure that my little girl would have the best start in life! Fast forward to now I have a happy and healthy daughter and I’m feeling really excited for our future.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reach out to the Camglen Family Support Hub and for sharing your story.

I am delighted to hear you have had a positive experience working with Kirsty.

Your involvement within the hub highlights to the staff the importance of being there for families and hopefully your story will encourage others in similar situations to engage.

I hope that you and your family are well and wish you all the best moving forward. I will ensure to share your feedback with Kirsty and the team.

If you require any additional information please do not hesitate to contact Kirsty or anyone within our Family Support Hub.
