About: Brooklyn Medical Practice DHU Healthcare CIC / NHS 111

(as the patient),

I’d gone to my local pharmacist as I suspected I had a urine infection and with new procedures they should’ve been able to treat me quickly which I needed because I was in a lot of pain. They were no help, neither was my GP that day, I was in a lot of pain also.

I resorted to calling 111, who said I’d get a call within 6 hours, 7 hours later I got a call referring me back to my GP after being asked the same questions.

By 12pm the following day, I’d still heard nothing from my GP, I wanted to call to ask when I’d be called, but new procedures meant the phone line didn’t open until 2.30. I had to wait until 4pm for a call from my GP again to be asked the same questions that were already on my record from the day before to be told within 5 minutes that yes I was correct it was a urine infection. They asked why I didn’t go to the pharmacist, I explained.

It took me over 24 hrs to solve an issue that could’ve been resolved by one pharmacist the day prior.
