When our son became very unwell I contacted our GP who made a request to this great team. Our son was treated with the greatest respect and dignity. I’m not going to name anyone specific as the team of nurses, nursing assistants, medics and a clinical pharmacist all provided person centred care based on need.
They worked collaboratively with the Complex Care and Enhanced Care team and thanks to the physio and nurses from this team. Everyone we spoke with allowed us as parents to tell our story of events leading up to this very acute episode of sickness.
Research definitely shows that recovery is much better for some when kept in their own familiar environment. I am not saying hospitals do not have their place but for some a hospital environment can be more distressing.
We’ve all heard of the new electronic recording system Encompass and for me as a parent those attending the home had live information. Thank you all for aiding recovery at home.
