"You supported me through each and every step"

Ward 36, Day Surgery Ward, Ninewells Hospital. I’m not even sure where to start. Never have I ever been a patient on a ward where the atmosphere is so professional, kind and caring; where every single RN, HCA and ANP places their patients needs and safety at the heart of everything they do. 

You supported me through each and every step of my recovery and for that I will be forever grateful and thankful to each and every one of you. You have no idea how reassured and safe your kindness, compassion and timely care delivery made me feel. 

I would like to extend a special thanks to Heather, SCN, Cara, CN, Rebecca, RN, Rachelle, RN, Nicky, ANP, Clare, ANP, Gina, RN and all the HCAs Zara, Clare, Kirsten. I am sure there are so many more of you whose names I am unable to recall, however your kindness and compassion will never be forgotten, truly thank you.

Please don’t ever change. Your professional role modelling is inspirational. 

To the Pain Nurse Specialist Allan, once again thank you for input. I cannot thank you enough for this important service. It really does help to reduce the trauma patients experience as a result of post operative pain complications. 

To all the Hospital at Night team members both ANPs and FYs, for a service that is ‘unseen’ because of the hours you work, the impact of the care you deliver in the out of hour period is vital and life saving and for that, I cannot thank you enough. You were there for me at my most vulnerable times and for that I am eternally grateful and thankful to you.
