"The Maternity & Neonatal Psychological Interventions Service is not just helpful, it is essential."

About: Mental Health Services / Maternity Neonatal Psychological Interventions (MNPI)

(as the patient),

I completed counselling with the Maternity & Neonatal Psychological Interventions Service Joanna, which has been both life-changing and deeply reassuring.

The Importance of the Service: This service is vital for families navigating the emotional challenges of baby loss. It provided a safe, professional space where I could process experiences that were overwhelming, ensuring that mental health and emotional wellbeing were prioritised alongside physical care.

Joanna’s Expertise: Joanna exemplifies the value of this service. Her ability to tailor sessions to my needs, explain strategies clearly, and provide practical tools gave me confidence and strength during a vulnerable time. I went into my 1st session with my guard up thinking that talking wouldn't help. I left my final session with happy and sad tears, a stronger more happier woman.

Compassionate Support: What made the greatest difference was Joanna’s empathy. She listened without judgement, validated my feelings, and created a supportive environment where I felt truly understood.

Lasting Impact: Thanks to Joanna and the service, I feel more resilient, better equipped to manage challenges, and reassured that my mental wellbeing matters. The strategies I learned continue to benefit me daily, and I am grateful for the positive changes this intervention has brought.

The Maternity & Neonatal Psychological Interventions Service is not just helpful, it is essential. Joanna’s dedication reflects the profound importance of investing in psychological care during babyloss journeys. People deserve this level of support, and I cannot thank Joanna enough for the outstanding care she provided.
