"Poor communication"

About: Pilgrim Hospital / Respiratory medicine

(as a relative),

My husband was admitted with DVT in May 2025 however in addition, after a scan, he was diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer with a prognosis of 6-12 months. Since then has received several blood transfusions and iron infusions.  Our experience has been impaired and made difficult at times by poor communication and a concerning number of nursing/medical staff with a poor grasp of English language

Dear millimeterwd55

Thank you for providing feeding following your experience. I can only apologise there has at times been poor communication, if more information can be provided on the areas you experienced poor standards of English I can look into this further and support with additional training if required. imogen.debenedictis@nhs.net

Imogen
