"Friendly and helpful staff"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Day Surgery

(as the patient),

A basic hernia repair with an overnight stay in hospital for social reasons.

The pre op assessment and paperwork were both very useful to prepare me for this hospital visit. All the staff in the unit were very friendly & helpful with my many questions about the op and recovery.

The operating staff explained what was involved with the op from start to finish, explaining any potential risks involved and the after care I should follow once at home.

No issue with the overnight stay, there were only two of us so plenty of attention from both the Day & Night shifts. And away home early the following morning.

All those persons attending the unit that day were asked to check in by 08.00, even though some (me included) did not get seen to until the afternoon. Just a pity we couldn't have been given a later check in time.
