"Not a good first impression"

About: New Victoria Hospital / Breathing and lung problems (Respiratory) New Victoria Hospital / Outpatients

(as a carer),

I'm so disappointed to be having to write this as usually we have a very positive experience.

I accompanied my father-in-law - who is in his 80s -  to a hospital appointment and in the usual fashion we checked in at Clinic A.

The member of staff on the desk at no point lifted their head from their PC, not even to greet us.  They put their hand out for the letter, asked my father-in-law to confirm his details, handed the letter back and said -clinic C.  Not once did they look at either him as the patient or me as his carer.

Not a good first impression, especially not when dealing with elderly people who expect a bit of common courtesy such as making eye contact.
