I had to attend for a health check of my baby at 10 weeks due to concerning symptoms experienced over the weekend. My anxiety levels were very high and I was fearing a loss of pregnancy. I had never contacted the early pregnancy unit before but found the clear referral information on trust website, left a voicemail on number as advised and was contacted back at 8.15am to get triaged by phone. The practitioner was very professional, clear and listened to my concerns fully and offered me an appointment the next day as at that point it was the only one available. She very kindly called me back 30 minutes later to offer me an appointment later that day if it suited.
Unfortunately my partner wasn’t able to attend the appointment so I went alone. The two nurses that conducted my appointment were approachable, friendly and put me at ease instantly. They took time to explain everything they were doing at each stage and thankfully the scan and investigations revealed that the pregnancy was still progressing normally and appeared healthy. Even with this reassurance, the nurses spent extra time talking to me about my anxieties relating to self care during pregnancy to help prepare me for other signs and symptoms I may experience which could be normal at certain stages of the pregnancy and when to be more concerned. I am so grateful for the care I received and wanted to extend my sincere thanks to the team.
"grateful for care I received"
