Having been stupid enough to miss a step in the dark on my stairs at home I found myself at my local minor injuries unit but as it was the weekend there were no X-ray facilities so I got a taxi to the R D and E in Exeter. As my local hospital had sent info ahead I was seen really quickly and given very welcome pain relief. I ended up in a plaster cast!
While the experience wasn’t nice I cannot fault the care and help from all the staff who dealt with me. I was seen quickly at every appointment and at a following check it was decided I needed an op to repair my ankle and help me in the future. Every part was explained and I was seen about ten days after my fall to having the op.
I can’t thank all the staff concerned for all their help and care,I had to stay overnight as my op was later in the day and I am a “carer” At home for my husband and they checked that he would be ok as would I manage when I got home.
