"The staff were supportive and great"

(as a service user),

I just wanted to give credit to all the fantastic people who helped to make the experience of having my second baby a fantastic one.

The staff at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness were supportive and great with their communications in the lead up to my C section and also in the aftercare.

A special mention to the two anaesthetists Sinead and Tola who were just wonderful in keeping me informed and calm before and during the op. And also to Carrie the midwife just for being an all round caring, superstar nurse.

A final thank you to my community midwife Emily in the Dingwall practice - again so supportive throughout and in the days that followed my pregnancy including putting me in touch with the breastfeeding care team.

The people are wonderful.

My only note for improvement lies with the NHS tech/communications functions. There should be “out of office” tech set up for community midwives and the breastfeeding team so that when staff are on leave/out of the office and unable to reply to text messages, patients always have a backup to get in touch with instead. I believe this is particularly important for the breastfeeding support.
