My wife recently had a brain scan, which showed some shrinkage, and we were advised to visit the Memory Assessment Unit. Our GP made the referral, and both my wife and I felt the experience went extremely well.
The nurse who carried out the assessment was absolutely amazing—my wife even said he was fantastic. He gave us plenty of time, was very professional, and incredibly charming. He reassured us by saying we could call him if we had any problems, which meant a lot.
After the appointment, we spoke to him again, and he promptly contacted the medical team. Shortly after, we received a detailed and thoughtful letter explaining the diagnosis, along with information on where to find support and guidance. My wife has now started a new medication, and we feel much more prepared to face this challenging time.
I want to personally thank the nurse for his kindness and professionalism. The whole service has been outstanding, and we truly feel supported.
