"They were so thorough and caring"

I want to tell you what fantastic care and treatment my mother received recently from the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust UCR North Team. She is in her 90's, and recently fell ill with a suspected infection.

Soon after phoning 111, a consultant practitioner from the UCR North Team arrive at the house and began making thorough investigations. She took a blood sample and, with the equipment she brought with her, was able to quickly analyse it so that mum was able to be started on an effective course of antibiotics straight away. Each day a member of the team came out to make observations and check mum's progress and recovery.

They were so thorough and caring and had lots of helpful advice to help mum to continue to live at home because sadly, this is not the first infection mum has had. A physiotherapist from the team, Stuart, deserves special mention as he was so caring, kind and reassuring in the way he took a further blood sample on the fourth day. He also made great breathing suggestions to help keep mum's chest clear and provided her with, and then demonstrated, some effective exercises designed to get her back on her feet again.

The occupational Therapists who came on the next two days were equally as helpful, suggesting slight adaptations, and organising the delivery of essential equipment that arrived the next day. I can't emphasise how thorough, professional and caring all the members of the team were, every area of mum's health and recovery were considered, there didn't seem be any area that wasn't fully explored. It has been was so good to see mum's recovery and watch her confidence grow, having had such wonderful treatment from the whole of the team.
