"My pacemaker"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Cardiology

(as the patient),

I first had my pacemaker inserted in 2015. I moved to Devon in 2021. I then started having my checks at Barnstaple Hospital in 2022 every 6months. The care and attention I have received since being down here has been great. The staff are cheerful and dedicated to their work.

I even have a home monitor, which doesn't work very well, it's intermittent in sending its recording, been replaced once but still not working as it should. However everything seems to be going well.

I recently went for a review. Was told I have 2 and a half months battery left, told I should be hearing from Exeter hospital soon. Then told if I don't hear, my next appointment would be in 3 months back at Barnstaple. On reflection that means I will probably run out of power!! I feel quite apprehensive about the time lap. However I hope that things work out.

Hopefully.

Dear Pappi

Thank you for sharing your experience. We're pleased to hear you've felt well cared for, but we're sorry that the timing of your recent review has left you feeling unsure, which is completely understandable.

You can reach me on: e.barrie1@nhs.net.

Many thanks
