"Breast cancer that had spread to my lymph nodes"

About: Adult Health & Support Services / Lymphoedema Clinic/Service University Hospital Hairmyres / Oncology Day Unit University Hospital Monklands / Medical Oncology (Ward 16) University Hospital Wishaw / Short Stay Unit

(as the patient),

After the cancer treatment of removing the lump and the affected lymph nodes, and then the resulting chemotherapy and radiotherapy finished, I was optimistic that now the only way was up. However, there was one more stumbling block - lymphedema! Something I believe there’s no cure for and so I have to try to control it with compression sleeves and wear one every day.

I am generally an optimistic person and have remained positive throughout my treatment. I felt cared for and was treated well.
