"Postpartum care"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Maternity care

(as the patient),

After being moved to the ward I saw many issues.

Day staff talking outside doors about other patients, referring to babies they considered difficult. Times of OBS being recorded incorrectly. This happened continuously on night shift.

Few members of staff very rude when asked for milk. Told someone would be available to explain my babies complex needs and given a time. Over 24 hours later I was still waiting.

Dear chassisbc96

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are very sorry to hear about the concerns you’ve raised regarding communication on the ward, the accuracy of observations, and the delay in receiving support for your baby’s complex needs. This is not the standard of care we aim to provide, and your feedback is extremely important to us.

We would like the opportunity to discuss this further with you so we can understand what happened and make improvements where needed. Please contact us at the below email to arrange an appropriate time for you to discuss this further:

Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. We are committed to learning from your experience and ensuring better care for all families.

Best regards

Alexa Foster
