"Brilliant experience"

About: East Of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust / NHS 111

(as a relative),

When my wife suddenly started being violently sick and dizzy with bowel problems, I dialled 111, and was phoned back by a paramedic department. They despatched Mike, a Specialist Paramedic working in south and mid Essex.

Mike was absolutely brilliant. He did no end of tests, including blood pressure and an ECG to ensure that my wife  did not have a serious heart problem, or other complication. He redid tests over a period of time whilst he was at our house, just to make sure there was nothing wrong. But told us to phone 999 if her symptoms worsened later. He was extremely kind, very patient, and had a sense of humour as well.

This was the NHS at its best; and people like Mike, make it the best. My wife was extremely lucky as there are apparently very few Specialist Paramedics working in the NHS.

Our many many thanks go to Mike and the other operatives who I spoke to on the phone.
