"Trying to avoid an A&E attendance"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / Gynaecology (Ward 32) Vale of Leven General Hospital / Gynaecology

(as a service user),

Was an inpatient under the care of gynaecology in July 2025. Was told I would be seen in 3 months time in the Vale of Leven to discuss surgical options.

Today I then receive an appt to see a different consultant at the end of February 2026. Tried to contact the consultants secretary with no joy. Living every day in pain and not sure how I’m expected to carry on like this for another 3 months.

Trying to avoid an A&E attendance but feel like I’m not being left with much option.

Dear relative63,

I am very sorry to hear about the distress and ongoing pain you’re experiencing while waiting for your follow-up appointment. I completely understand how frustrating and difficult it must feel to face such a delay, especially when you were originally told you’d be seen sooner.

Please accept my sincere apologies for the inconvenience and worry this has caused. We want to ensure you get the right care and support as quickly as possible, so I would be very grateful if you could contact me directly at:

Nikki.Harvey@nhs.scot.

This will allow me to look into your case in more detail and see how we can best help you.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience — your feedback is important to us and helps us improve the care we provide.

Kind regards,

Nikki
