"The whole visit was excellent"

About: Ninewells Hospital / Xrays and scans Trauma & Orthopaedics / Orthopaedic Outpatients

(as the patient),

Arrived with my wife driving, 30 minutes earlier than the appointment, but despite this, we could not park in time. I left my wife to park and made my way to Orthopaedic Outpatients for my appointment.

On arrival, I was asked to complete a form. On completion, I was asked to go to get an x-ray. On arrival at x-ray, I was asked to wear a robe (provided) and was x-rayed immediately.

On return to Orthopaedic Outpatients, I was seen by the registrar straight away. Everything was fully explained and all my questions answered. I agreed and arranged a follow up appointment and received a confirmation letter before leaving.

The whole visit was excellent and very slick,  only spoiled by the awful availability of parking. Medically, the appointment experience was flawless, making me feel like I was a valued patient. I cannot imagine private health's being any more polished. Many thanks NHS.

Thank you for taking the time to write to us and provide such positive feedback, regarding your recent NHST appointment journey.

It is disappointing that the parking element of your journey was not as positive and I appreciate you sharing this with us.

NHST provide free parking across 2500 spaces on the Ninewells site, and we recognise that demand for parking can be challenging, particularly during periods of peak demand, which is a similar position across most acute sites in Scotland.

NHST recognises that attending hospital can be an anxious time for both patients and their relatives, and we are currently reviewing the Ninewells Car Park alignment through a series of workshops, which include full stakeholder participation. We are aiming to deliver a review and consider how we can effectively support improved access to our car parks, for Patients, Visitors and Staff over the coming months.

NHS Tayside values your feedback and again extends our thanks that you have taken the time to share your parking experience.

Regards

Louise Fraser

Facilities Manager
