(as the patient),

I was in a car accident  traumatic brain injuries was the outcome. I thought I was ok afterwards regarding my brain, couple months went by and that’s when effects of my brain started becoming apparent. The coping mechanism I learned where a sanity/life saver; I never understood the whole mental health thing, this was my first experience, so glad I had Dr Lucy and team walk with me, through this difficult period. Time to except and adapt to my new life; wouldn’t have been possible without the brain injury clinic.

We are truly sorry to hear about your accident and the challenges you have faced as a result of your traumatic brain injury. Adjusting to the effects of such an injury can be incredibly difficult, and it is completely understandable that the symptoms only became fully apparent some time afterwards.

We are very glad to hear that the support you received from Dr Lucy and the Brain Injury Clinic team helped you navigate this period and develop coping strategies that made a real difference. Your acknowledgement of their guidance, care and understanding will mean a great deal to them.

Coming to terms with a “new normal” can be a complex and emotional journey, and it is encouraging to hear that you felt supported every step of the way. We will be sure to pass on your gratitude to the team.

We wish you continued strength and progress as you adapt and move forward.
