"Was the best thing they did for me"

About: BAC O'Connor Centre, Burton CGL Birmingham / East Hub

(as a service user),

I was broken soo bad that Sandra n Wayne with there help got me into rehab in burton with the BAC what a journey it was and still is but without them I wouldn’t be where I am today my detox was painful but I did it then the intense therapy started which is what I needed as other rehabs hadn’t worked so sending me somewhere different was the best thing they did for me.

I’m now nearly 10months clean with hard work that I had to put in but with support from CGL. It took me about 10 weeks to feel physically ok in myself but the support I received from the BAC during my detox and the encouragement was out of this world. Many times I had planned I was going to leave but with the staffs time and encouraging words I completed the whole treatment. Detox was long and hard but so worth it to be where I am today.

I’m waiting to volunteer in detox 2 days a week to help others and see that going through this that at the end there is a life, a life I never thought id have but im living proof it’s possible. I fully do NA and work a programme have a sponsor. I listened in groups and gave my experience which helped me but also helped others.

I will always be grateful for CGL, Sandra and Wayne
