"Some of the best care I have ever received"

About: Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / Surgical Observation Unit Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / Xrays and scans

(as the patient),

I would just like to commend the team in the Surgical Observation Unit for the excellent care that I have received over the 3 stays I've had in the last few weeks.

The staff clearly are there for the right reasons!

I would particularly like to thank Miss Ward (consultant surgeon) for going above and beyond to provide me with the treatment that I needed. I can't express enough how grateful I am to her!

Advanced nurse Angela is another person in particular that I would like to thank. She is incredibly kind. I won't go into detail because it was very personal but she showed so much compassion and humility.

Others that I would like to thank for being so professional, kind, caring and compassionate are student nurse Abigail, registrar Yash and CSW Neil. I'm not sure if the MRI team fall under the same remit but I felt very well looked after by the staff there too. I wish I could remember everyone but these individuals are the ones who made the biggest impact for me!

The standard of care provided by the Surgical Observation team is some of the best care I have ever received and I think everyone should strive to be like them!

Hello,

Thank you for such lovely feedback! It's always nice to hear when our team has done something well. I have passed on your comments to the the staff named in your post, who are on shift today. Angela and Abi were delighted to read it. I will also ensure that Neil and Yash read it too.

I hope that you are now on the road to recovery.

With kind regards and best wishes.

Claire

Snr Charge Nurse
