"we are in safe hands"

About: Musgrave Park Hospital / Day Procedure Unit - Withers 5A Musgrave Park Hospital / Ward 6A

(as the patient),

I was admitted in November 2025 to Withers for a knee replacement.

I was apprehensive. The huge number of patients turning up with suitcases in hand was disturbing and overwhelming at first. However the process of transferring patients to pre-surgical wards was seamless. I was on ward 5A.

The staff were competent and approachable. The visiting consultant, Mr. Johnston and accompanying anaesthetists calming and reassuring.

In the operating theatre I experienced a welcolming environment, both professional and friendly. A special mention is reserved for the high quality nursing I received. A huge thank you to Mr Johnston and his wonderful team.

Later, on Ward 6A I continued to receive high quality nursing care and attention. The nursing staff are exemplary. A special mention and word of thanks to Nurse Joselyn on Ward 6A and  Student Nurse Emma in theatre. We are in safe hands….
