"Last 2 months fall & sepsis"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / General medicine (Wards 5d) Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Medical High Dependency Unit (MHDU)

(as a service user),

What happened was one near the end of July I got up and I was going to the loo and I fell on the way and I was in a on the floor for 12 hours then my boyfriend or my dad couldn’t help me up so my mum phoned an ambulance and the paramedics got me up and I stumbled when I tried to take a step but my dad caught me and the paramedics said we are going to take you to hospital then I found out I had sepsis.

I was in hdu for a week before moving up to ward 5d where I have been since recovering. I think there needs to be more staff and more input from physios.

Hi sparklequeen,

I'm sorry to hear about your accident and the issues you've encountered since.

You have raised some concerns in your post about the level of physio input you are receiving, which I would be keen to look into further for you.

As this is an anonymous platform, if you are willing to share further details, could you please email me on laura.wilson10@nhs.scot and I will look into this for you?

Many thanks,

Laura
