"The staff were incredible"

About: Maternity care / Maternity Ward Victoria Hospital / Maternity care

(as the patient),

I attended the Victoria Hospital for an elective c-section for my second baby. I had such a good experience with my first, even though my labour ended with an emergency section, that I intentionally chose to attend the Victoria Hospital for my second birth (I am under NHS Tayside for community care but opted to attend NHS fife hospital for my elected section).

The staff were incredible throughout my admission. I felt so well informed and so supported from my clinic appointments and throughout my admission. A special mention to the elective team who were great at easing my anxiety prior to the operation and making myself and my partner feel included in all decision making and keeping us informed of everything that was happening.

Fiona talked us through everything in the morning she was amazing. She even popped in the next day when she came back on shift to see us. The care felt so personalised and like we really mattered and the team really cared. I can’t express my thanks more, it was a great experience and I felt like me and my baby were in the best hands. Their patient care and support was exceptional and I couldn’t recommend them enough.

Thank you so so much again for bringing our baby boy into the world so safely and making this an amazing, calm experience for me and my family.

Hello blackbirddc36,

Well, I am just off the phone reading your post out loud to Fiona and it made her tearful! Happy tears was what she said and just what she was needing to hear.

Thank you so much, I don't know that people realise how much value staff place on receiving feedback. It really is important and validates their efforts and compassion.

I am also appreciative for any and all feedback to let us know how the public feel about the care we give.

My very best wishes to you and your family

Pamela Higgins
