"My labour"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Maternity care

(as a service user),

Went into labour and spent some time on assessment unit before being moved to labour ward. The midwives I had were all amazing esp Gemma and student midwife Mirren where fantastic. Made me feel so at ease despite how worried I was after hearing that baby’s heart rate was dropping. I ended up having an emergency c section due to baby’s heart rate dropping and not being able to get him with the forceps. The whole time I was there every member of staff were amazing. The theatre staff and doctors where honestly fab and Gemma and Mirren stayed there the whole time as well and checked on me after baby was born. He had to spend some time in NICU to be monitored before joining me. I can’t praise the staff enough for how amazing they all are.

Even my community midwife Jenna was amazing as well and was always on hand to answer any questions I had as had been over 18 years since my first was born and that I was anxious as have had 3 losses.
