"Much appreciated and missed when it ended"

About: Health & Community Care Services / Dementia Support

(as a carer),

My wife was diagnosed with non specific dementia almost a year ago.  She was referred to the North Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership who provided social interaction and respite support in the form of 2 hours per week of care for 12 weeks. This took the form of socialising by trips out to local establishments such as cafes and garden centres. The support was much appreciated and missed when it ended. It would have been helpful if this could have continued indefinitely.

Morning Eastwood,

Firstly thank you kindly for taking the time to leave your kind comments with regards to the service which was provided by the Dementia Support Service, the service is a short term service and this is due to the service being non chargeable and in high demand we have a waiting list.

We appreciate how important the support is to our service users and their carers, I would also highlight however that a referral can be requested on more than one occasion.
