Requiring admission to an acute hospital is something we’d hope to avoid however feeling so poorly, I had no choice.
The care I received from doctors and nurses in the ED was exemplary. Their care and communication was of the highest standard. I also found this to be the case as I overheard staff speaking to other patients. They displayed kindness and compassion at all times despite sometimes being at the other end of the frustrations displayed by some patients who were feeling failed by the system. This was also the case with the porters, who were obviously busy but very kind to the patients.
The competence and support from Dr Chekroud, Sr Browne, Kirstie and all staff was outstanding. At such a frightening time for me, I felt in safe hands.
This positive experience continued in wd 2 and wd 9.. Claire and Leanne were a credit to their profession.
Now home and starting to feel a bit better, I wanted to ensure staff were given the praise due, especially Dr Mulholland and Dr Robertson, who took time to listen to me to ensure I received the appropriate treatment. Thank you all so much ☺️
