About: Western Health & Social Care Trust / Post Covid Syndrome Service

(as a service user),

I have been attending the post Covid clinic in SWAH during 2025, today was my last apt& l want to advise on how the experience has been. The appointments were one to one, with my therapist & also included a block group sessions of mindfulness. On commencement with the service, my symptoms were primarily fatigue, brain fog, short term memory problems & exhaustion.

Having direct contact with Alison, who was my therapist worked very well as l have recurring triggers around working through zoom sessions. This is very much connected to my.  previous professional work as when l had the first Covid symptoms this was the means of working with clients & all meetings pertaining to my work. My symptoms were so severe, l had to retire early from work. In working with the post Covid clinic , it has provided me with strategies in dealing with periods of extreme fatigue, dealing with the low days & working on not over doing it on the good days. Sessions have brought direction and purpose, giving me the space to focus on what I need.

The mindfulness component of the therapy helped me to focus and develop strategies that helped deal with anxiety and stress. l continue to try and make mindfulness a consistent part of my life.

In conclusion, l do hope that this most effective approach to treatment of post Covid patients continues within our Trust.
