"Valuable support given by PSL"

About: Parent Support Link

(as a service user),

My partner is an alcoholic and was referred to Inclusion by the Doctor. He gave my details to his case worker and I was referred to PSL. As well as the group meeting ever month I also receive a 1-1 meeting each month with Steve. Both parts of the service help in different ways. The group meeting is amazingly cathartic as I get to share what’s going on, my thoughts and feelings with a group of people who are in similar situations to myself and we all support each other. The 1-1 sessions are just as valuable as I get to go into more detail about what is happening in my life and Steve listens, gives feedback and gently challenges me to think differently about the situation. I value everything about PSL and am unsure how I would have coped without them.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. We’re really glad to hear that both the group meetings and your 1-1 sessions have been such a source of support and reflection for you. It’s inspiring to hear how you’ve engaged with the service and the strength you’ve found through connecting with others. We’ll be sure to pass your kind words on to Steve and the team.
