"Lack of information"

About: Pilgrim Hospital / X-ray and Scans

(as the patient),

I was there to have a CT scan; I wasn't told in advance they had to take blood and have it tested.

The test took too long and I had to leave before the scan to be home for my disabled daughter.

This could easily have been avoided by stating how long I could be there for. Instead I drove all the way from Lincoln to Boston for what was a wasted journey.

Perhaps a few lines in the appointment letter stating how long you might be there could help.

Firstly; I would like to say that I am extremely sorry that you have had reason to complain about the service you received when attending for a CT and would like to thank you for raising these concerns.

Unfortunately, it is difficult to fully investigate this issue without further information. I would encourage you to discuss your concerns with PALS/ complaints team, to allow me to provide a full review.

Genuinely listening to our patients experiences of care is extremely important to us and learning from where we could have done better is a corner stone to our journey of continuous improvement.

Kind regards,
Sarah Clapham
Radiology Operations Manager
