"Stress has now been eased with great help"

About: Early Years Workers / Early Years Workers - Angus

(as a service user),

Catriona was assigned to support my son and I with struggles around toileting, in particular opening how bowels. He would often appear to hold in his stools and refuse to go on the toilet when prompted. This often lead to accidents happening whilst out and about or at nursery which caused him great distress.

Catriona spent time getting to know our circumstances and lifestyle and helped us figure out the best way forward.

She encouraged me to support my son to ensure any constipation was dealt with , by providing me with a strict disimpaction plan as advised by ERIC organisation.

She also helped me get things changed at our GP surgery and encouraged a GP appointment to ensure nothing else was underlying. From here we were able to get laxido prescribed and disimpaction plan started.

Catriona checked in with us all throughout the process offering advice and guidance through the tricky times.

My son felt the need to go to the toilet himself during this time due to the frequency of how much he felt he had to go open his bowels. Not only did this solve the issue of constipation into him having more healthier and regular stools , but also enabled and encouraged him to use the toilet himself.

I am very pleased to say that several weeks on from beginning this plan he appears to be continuing to use the toilet and his stools remain healthy and regular.

A very big stress over our lives the last year or so has now been eased with great help to Catriona - very much appreciated!!!
