"Helped to deal with the consequences of my husband’s addiction"

About: Parent Support Link

(as a service user),

When I found out about my husband’s addiction 5 months ago I didn’t know where to turn. There seemed to be lots of support available for him but I felt very isolated. The first time I spoke to someone from PSL it was a huge relief to realise I wasn’t alone. I have had regular contact since then, which has been a lifeline. Recovery has not been without lots of setbacks and relapses, and the support of PSL has been invaluable in helping me to navigate this and make the right decisions for myself and my children.

Thank you for sharing your experience, it takes real courage to open up about something so personal and difficult. Finding yourself in that situation must have felt incredibly isolating, and it’s completely understandable that you didn’t know where to turn at first.

I’m so glad that reaching out to PSL has helped you feel less alone and given you the support you deserve. Recovery journeys can be full of challenges and setbacks, but it’s wonderful to hear that you’ve found strength and guidance through our team as you focus on yourself and your children.

Please know that we’ll continue to be here for you every step of the way. You’re doing an amazing job navigating something so tough with courage and care.
