"I felt as if I were in safe hands"

I recently had a surgical procedure under the care of Consultant Mr Noble (General Surgery, Montacute ward) and his Team. The treatment I received was excellent.

My initial contact with the Admissions team was helpful, they dealt with my queries efficiently and in a friendly manner.

My first admission to the Surgical assessment team was good. The staff were professional and friendly and answered my queries and admitted me quite quickly. Unfortunately due to medical emergencies my procedure and some others were cancelled later in the day. The staff were very apologetic and a very kind nurse gave me a cup of tea and toast before going on my journey back home. The admissions team sent me another date for surgery fairly promptly afterwards which was a relief.

I have had my surgical procedure. Mr Noble the Consultant and Dr Fullerman were brilliant, I am grateful that I had such skilled surgeons to treat me. The Anaesthetic Team was great too and put me at ease. Although I only saw them briefly they seemed such skilled and professional staff, friendly too.

The staff on Montacute Ward that cared for me were also professional and friendly. I felt as if I were in safe hands.

Despite the Old Building the ward was clean and as comfortable as can be and seems fit for purpose. Despite the staff being extremely busy most of them were very helpful and patient focused. I feel very grateful that I have had such a positive experience.
