"I definitely made significant progress"

About: Oncology / Physical Activity Classes

(as the patient),

I’m a senior citizen who had major surgery in June 2025 - it was successful but I lost weight and physicality.

The urology team looking after me suggested that I attend some sort of physical rehabilitation class. I was referred to Joe, a Friends of the Cancer Centre’s Physical Activity Coach. I was hesitant about proceeding but Joe reassured me and assigned me to his 12-week face to face seated class.

I would thoroughly recommend this course. The staff are especially welcoming with free coffee and car parking as part of the service. The course itself is as hard or easy as you wish it to be with Joe providing variations on each exercise during its 45-minute duration. I definitely made significant progress over the 4 months that I attended this course and am glad that Joe persuaded me to sign up.

Hi Greengraves

Thank you so much for taking the time to voice your thoughts on the service provided by our physical activity coach. It is great to hear that you enjoyed the face-to-face seated classes with Joe and that they were tailored to your individual needs. I’m glad that you found the staff welcoming and that the coffee and car parking added to your experience. Please continue to keep active and I will make sure to let Joe know about your great feedback.

Kind Regards
