"I feel like they actually cared about how I felt"

About: Fife Community Services / Podiatry

(as the patient),

I've been recieving ongoing care for over a year now at the Ladybank health centre in Ladybank, Fife.

Initially I was attending the podiatrist Lesley. She was fantastic and helped alot but my foot only partially healed. So she spoke to the nurses on the compression team who took over my case .

The usual nurses I see are Claire + Andy. They have been brilliant, very friendly but extremely compitant + professional. I was very anxious about the compression as I suffer from restless legs + am slightly phobic about cramps, but they explained that it would actually help with those issues+ reassured me that it would hopefully help my foot heal.

The compression really helped+ my foot is almost healed. I recently moved from the wrapped bandages onto a velcro system + will hopefully be discharged in a few weeks.

I would highly commend everyone who has treated me. I'm not the easiest patient due to anxiety, general mental health+ travel problems, I was  often late but they were very understanding . Despite my anxiety I had a very positive experience+ feel like they actually cared about how I felt .

Thanks to everyone involved, especially Andy who taught me my new mantra - Legs matter!!

Thank you so much Neonhades for your kind and thoughtful feedback. I am truly grateful that you've taken the time to share your experience.

It’s heartening to hear that Lesley made such a positive impact on your care journey and was able to link you in with the nursing team.

I am proud to have staff who not only provide excellent clinical support but also show genuine compassion and understanding—especially when patients are facing additional challenges like anxiety or travel difficulties.

Your words mean a great deal and I will ensure to share with Lesley and the wider Podiatry team.

Wishing you continued progress and comfort and legs definitely do matter!

Kind Regards

Moira
