"Early life trauma and support"

About: Community Services (AMH) / 4Doncaster Primary Care Network

(as a service user),

I saw ellie after my grandmother pasted away which triggered lots of trauma memories for me. The dr referred me to ellie who is a mental health nurse.

She was very understanding and listened to my life events without judging me. This was important as i have a very high pressured job and i felt silly talking as the people who i work with often experiance worse life events.

Ellie talked to me about my life trauma and was very supportive to me. She asked permission to refer me on explaining the next steps. She has kept in touch with me checking in .

She has been open and honest as well as very supportive towards me

Hi Greenec64,

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide some feedback on your experience of accessing a mental health practitioner within the GP surgeries.

Our past experiences and traumas in life are so individual and impact on how we respond to different circumstances- we can be really hard on ourselves and put pressure on to be able to cope with adversity.

I am pleased that your interactions with Ellie allowed you the time and space, without judgement, to explore these things and move forwards. I hope that your next interventions are helpful too.

I will ensure that Ellie receives your feedback too.

wishing you all the very best for your future

Barbara Taylor
