"So reassuring and supportive"

About: Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary / Paediatrics

(as a parent/guardian),

I just wanted to thank the team who looked after us when I brought my 3 month old son Caelan in.

The whole family had been ill and I was very anxious about my son and the team were so reassuring and supportive.

I would like say a special thank you to the student nurse Callum. I thought his bedside manner was fantastic. He was so engaging and gentle with my son, who responded so well to him. He reassured me but more so by making my son feel relaxed and comfortable. He is clearly in the right profession.

Also thank you to Brogan for all her help and support throughout the day.

Dear Lmac18,

Thank you for taking the time to share such positive feedback with us.

I was so pleased to learn that our staff were reassuring and supportive during Caelan's recent visit to DGRI.

I understand that this must have been such a difficult and anxious time for you all, but it was heartening to hear that Callum was gentle and engaging with baby Caelan, and that Brogan was also able to support you throughout the day too.

I will be sure to pass on your kind and appreciative words to the staff and the team involved.

Many thanks

Kind regards

Sara

Dear Lmac18

Thank you so much for sending us this lovely feedback. I am so glad that Caelan is continuing to improve. It is indeed a very daunting prospect when your child is unwell and when you are feeling poorly yourself it all seems so much worse.

Callum has proven to be a great student nurse who will continue to thrive and become a great registered nurse in the future. Brogan is also a very dedicated member of the team. I will ensure that they receive your feedback.

Thanks again

Regards
