"Delays between operations"

My surgery took place at a private clinic through the NHS and I was well looked after throughout.  I have only one reservation.  Both eyes had to be treated due to my extreme long-sightedness. Unfortunately there was a long delay (11 weeks) between the first and second operations, and I have been struggling to see properly.  The situation has caused me to strain my eyes and the first one to be treated now often feels uncomfortable.  Is there any reason why the two operations can't be scheduled at the same time,  with an interval of 4-6 weeks,  for example ?
